Focusing on Teaching and Research Deliberations, Charting the Course: Metalworking Teaching & Research Section Holds Symposium on New Paths for AI-Empowered Classroom Teaching

      In order to explore paths for the deep integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and theoretical teaching, the Metalworking Teaching & Research Section of the Engineering Training Center convened a thematic symposium titled “AI-Empowered Classroom Teaching” on April 8, 2025. The meeting aimed to build consensus, clarify the direction, and provide clear guidance for the subsequent reform of theoretical course instruction.


       The discussions centered on the practical challenges faced by theoretical courses, including personalized learning guidance, process-oriented teaching evaluation, the presentation of complex knowledge, and the cultivation of innovative thinking. Faculty members jointly examined current technological trends and the inherent demands of theoretical teaching. There was unanimous agreement that AI technology is not merely an auxiliary tool but a key enabler for the systematic restructuring of teaching models and for promoting leaps in students' cognitive and thinking abilities.


       Following in-depth discussion, the section established integration principles of "student-centered, data-supported, and intelligence-enhanced." They systematically planned a comprehensive intelligent support system for theoretical teaching covering the entire "pre-class, in-class, post-class" process: Before class, AI will be used to analyze student readiness, enabling personalized distribution of learning resources and preview guidance. During class, intelligent interaction and visualization technologies will be integrated to strengthen real-time feedback and thought guidance during the knowledge comprehension process. After class, AI tools will be employed for learning outcome analysis and consolidation suggestions, providing precise and timely teaching feedback.


The Teaching and Research Section will continue to explore the organic integration of AI and theoretical teaching to promote the continuous enhancement of talent cultivation quality.
